Matt and Marie

Monday, August 30th, 2010

I am so excited to be photographing this wedding next May…Matt is a very good friend of my husband…they grew up together and there is a group of 6 of them who are still the best of friends.

blog1

Matt is #5 to get married and since Josh was the first in his group to get married…I am the wife who has waited the longest for the rest of these guys to have wives.  We are almost there…thank heavens!  I am actually pretty jealous of his group of friends because they have been together forever and every time they get together it’s like no time has gone by since the last time.  They are crazy and fun and I appreciate their bond more and more all the time…

blog2

Marie is going to be a stunning bride…can’t wait!

blog7

Matt did a wardrobe change at this point…his mom wanted one shirt and Marie wanted the other one…he decided to make them both happy…

blog3

blog4

They’re so cute!

blog6

And my personal favorite…

blog5

Thanks Matt and Marie…had a great time with you as always and I am really looking forward to your wedding day!

Ashlynn and Gracynn

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

It is always so nice to get these girls in front of my camera.   This is Ashlynn and Gracynn…

blog2

They are just so darn cute!

blog3

This was our first outdoor session together and the outdoors always brings another level of challenges…especially when there are bugs!

blog4

I sprayed myself 3 times for moquitos and I was sure I was going to have West Nile by the time I got back into town!

blog5

Love this one!

blog6

Ashlynn is such a little character….she had lots of stories about Kindergarten!  Such an exciting time in their little lives.

blog8

blog7

I hope the sunset shots we got that Jocelyn wanted so badly were worth crabby kids and all the mosquitos…I definately think they were!!

blog1

Thank you Eric and Jocelyn for coming back again and again.  I enjoy you each and every time!

Anna

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Wow!  Another beautiful senior.  I am having so much fun with the seniors this year and there are more to come.  I have several sessions to edit still!  This is Anna…

blog1

And it was impossible to narrow down what to post…this girl doesn’t take a bad photograph!

blog5

She always looks so darn cute!

blog6

Loved this outfit…

blog9

Anna just has such pretty coloring…her hair and skin are awesome!

blog10

I know these fountain shots are among her favorites…Anna helped me out this summer with some editing, creating, etc. and she has already previewed her whole session so I know which ones are her favorites…

blog8

blog4

The breeze was perfect…we couldn’t have asked for a better evening…

blog7

Highway shots are among my favorites…just something about them…

blog2

blog3

I love all of your photos Anna!  Glad I don’t have to choose!!  Good luck with your senior year…I enjoyed getting to know you this summer.

Nick

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

Nick has a very individual style and it was really fun photographing something different.  He is really into martial arts and I’m just going to start this post with my favorite shot…

blog6

The water was like glass and looked great!

blog7

I was glad to be able to get a good close-up shot of this tattoo…

blog8

I don’t think I have ever done a letter jacket shot…

blog4

blog1

Nick wanted some “mafia” shots as well…

blog5

And had a couple of different hats…

blog3

He also hopes to one day work for the FBI…he would fit in for sure!  All he needed in this shot was a headphone coming out of his jacket!

blog2

And finally the storyboard…

blog9

It was nice to meet you Nick and you too Tammy!  Good luck with everything and I really hope you get into the FBI someday!

Hannah

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

Hannah came from the Kearney area for her senior pictures…

blog1

This session was a challenge in a way…not because Hannah isn’t photogenic or anything but because she didn’t want anything country, old or anything outdoors.  Since that is mainly what I photograph and I’m very  much a country girl…it was a challenge to come up with a variety of shots while staying in my studio.

blog2

The part that wasn’t a challenge was guessing what she likes and doesn’t like.  She is very open about sharing that which made things easier on me…

blog3

I really like the way the khaki background accentuates her beautiful blond hair…

blog5

Hannah liked the plain colored backgrounds so we incorporated the blue into her pictures as well…

blog4

I love this fun shot…and this background is one of my favorites!

blog6

I did talk her into a few outside…

blog7

Thank you Lisa and Hannah for driving all the way here and putting your confidence in me to deliver just what you want out of your senior photos.  Good luck with your senior year!

Allison, Kendra, Reagan and Daniel

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

I have taken pictures of these kiddos several times and I just love them.  The older 2 girls are always so excited to see me and have their picture taken…such wonderful subjects!

blog5

This is Reagan…she has such pretty eyes…

blog2

And how cute is this?  Love the hair!

blog3

What a cool sister shot…

blog4

It was obvious to us the whole time we were taking pictures that it was going to storm so we were trying to get as many in as we could before we got wet.  We had Daniel in this bucket when it started to lightning so that was the end of bucket for sure!

blog6

Another sweet sister picture…

blog7

We tried to finish our session inside but before we even got the baseball shots taken the electricity went out.  We had Carrie’s 4 kids along with my 2 in the basement at the time and when the lights went out it was pitch black.  We had crying babies and freaking out little girls…but my husband came to the rescue with a lantern so we could at least find our way back up the stairs.  Good thing Carrie is a go-with-the-flow kind of person or she may never come back after that!  I’m glad they  made it back to Sidney okay…the storm was pretty intense that night.  Daniel is the baby on my website laying in the baseball glove so we are going to do a series of pictures with the same glove and do a storyboard at the end.  I can’t wait…it will be adorable!

blog1

Thanks Carrie for braving the storm with me.  Hope the shots we got were worth it!

Carli, Kiersten and Kassidy

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

I have taken these girls’ pictures several times and they are so much fun!  Can’t you just hear the giggles when you see this one of Carli?

blog8

And here is Kiersten who has changed so much in the last 6 months…

blog1

Kassidy is always smiling!

blog4

Amie and Trevor are so good about having individual pictures with each child which I think is pretty cool…so often with 2nd and 3rd children, they just get grouped in with their siblings, but each of these girls will have images with just her Mommy and Daddy.

blog2

Kassidy seems to be enjoying the kisses from her Daddy!

blog3

The girls had so much fun when we let them just do whatever they wanted…and I love this image that resulted from that…

blog5

Cute family picture…

blog6

She is such a happy baby…

blog7

Thanks so much Trevor and Amie!  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend at the lake!

Garrett

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

Senior season is in full swing…I have so many sessions to edit it is crazy! This is Garrett…

blog1

Very quiet…but very nice kid…

blog3

He has a really great serious look…

blog4

He was up for anything I wanted him to do…

blog6

He even leaned into tree branches that probably weren’t very comfortable but there were no complaints!

blog2

I love this one because he wanted to have a few with his sunglasses on his head…then I saw him this past weekend with his sunglasses on his head just like this so it is definitely “him”…

blog7

I really like this highway shot…the weather cooperated so nicely for us…a little cloudy and we were good to go!  If only they all could be like this one…

blog5

Thanks Garrett and good luck with your senior year!

Matt and Chelsea

Monday, August 16th, 2010

What a beautiful wedding…and a beautiful couple!

blog2

I love the way this one turned out during the ceremony…with the focus blurred on the bride and groom…

blog3

This wedding was in Chelsea’s parents’ yard here in Chappell…in 100 degree weather…it was a hot one!

blog10

Here is Chelsea with her best friend and maid of honor…

blog1

Matt is from England and they met through UTube.  I have never gotten emotional at a wedding before but I did at this one…maybe because I was standing so close to them during the ceremony or maybe because the love they have for each other is so visible…

blog9

Shortly after the wedding Matt had to return to England and wait for their paperwork to go through…I’m sure it has been really hard on both of them!

blog6

I’m actually lucky I made it to this wedding at all.  Chelsea’s mom called me a couple of weeks before they were getting married to see if I by chance had the date open.  I looked at my calendar and assumed I was looking at a Saturday and cleared 3 sessions so I could do the wedding.  I moved the other sessions to Sunday.  Then on Friday morning about 7:44 I got a call from Chelsea’s mom asking me if I was going to take pictures of her getting ready at the beauty shop.  I said yes of course at 7am tomorrow right?  She said no, the wedding is today!  Oh my gosh!!  After a small 5 minute panic attack, I gathered my things, got out of my PJ’s and headed to the beauty shop to start the day.  I was there by 8:00 so I think I did pretty good, especially since the wedding started at 9 am.  I am the kind of person who goes with the flow and doesn’t plan a whole lot and I often “fly by the seat of my pants” which in this case turned out to be a VERY good trait to have.

blog8

I’m posting so many because Matt isn’t able to view the slideshows on his iphone and can’t get to a computer for a few days…so I wanted to show him as many as I could this way…

blog67

They are just so beautiful!

blog4

The flowers were so pretty…it was hard to pick one of the rings/flowers to share…

blog5

Love this one…

blog11

blog12

Congralutations Chelsea and Matt!  I wish you all the best and for the next 8 weeks to fly by so you can be together again!!

Miss Lily

Monday, August 9th, 2010

I was soooo excited to finally meet Miss Lily…for personal reasons rather than professional ones…

blog2

Lily is the daughter of my very best friend growing up…and the granddaughter of my OT boss…

blog1

This was my first official on location photography shoot where I did some shooting indoors…I am loving the way the natural light coming in the windows makes her eyes so sparkly!

blog3

Becca (Lily’s mommy) and her husband Eric live in the Washington DC area so we don’t get to see them very often…Eric’s grandmother made this dress for Lily and she couldn’t have been cuter in it!

blog

And this was the first time I got to meet Lily…She is 5 months old…and I just love looking at these pictures because even though she bears a very strong resemblance to her Daddy, I can see so much of Becca in her too.  This was a bonnet that was worn by Becca’s grandfather when he was a baby…so cool!

blog4

She was pretty happy for her photo shoot…

blog6

And she is doing really well sitting up for only being 5 months old…we had to use things to sit her in because she isn’t completely sitting on her own yet but it won’t be long.

blog5

So cute!

blog8

And I wanted to include one of her Mommy Becca as well…I have so many wonderful memories growing up with Becca and it was so special to get to meet her baby and spend some time with them.

blog7

Congratulations Becca and Eric on your sweet baby girl and congrats to Cyndy and Tom as well.  You will be the coolest grandparents on earth!!
