Rob and Amber

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

I am looking forward to photographing Rob and Amber’s wedding in August and it was so nice to meet them for their engagement shoot.

blog1

This was the 2nd or 3rd time we had rescheduled because of the weather and the morning we took these pictures I thought we would have to reschedule again…it was drizzling about an hour before their appointment…

BLOG8

But then the sun came out and so I thought we were good…

BLOG7

Well by the time we started it began to drizzle once again!  It drizzled the whole entire time we were out shooting…

blog2

I’m really glad you can’t tell how wet we were getting in these pictures!

blog3

We hurried to finish before we were soaked and then about 10 mintues after Rob and Amber left, the rain stopped and the sun started to shine once again…they say rain is good luck…

BLOG6

This girl really loves her man…she will wear camo for him!

BLOG4

I really love this storyboard…

BLOG5

Thank you Rob and Amber.  I’m sorry we had to deal with the weather but I think your pictures look great so it was worth getting a little wet!  Looking forward to your wedding in August!

Kate and Brooke

What a couple of adorable little girls…

blog2

This is Kate…what a beauty…and so well behaved for an almost 3 year old.  My almost 3 year old does not cooperate this well for pictures!

blog1

And this is her little sister Brooke who is one…

blog5

Kate had lots of expressions and she looks so darn sweet in this one…

blog6

Brooke is quite fond of her puppy…which saved us a few times when she got a little fussy…

blog8

What a big girl!

blog4

Kate and Brooke brought not only their parents but their grandparents too!  The puppy made this shot too but these were at the end of the session and we used whatever we could to get just “one more smile”…

blog3

Brooke was giving her Mommy kisses and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to capture that…

blog7

It was really nice to meet you Steve and Jennifer.  Good luck with the move into your new home!  I hope to see you again soon!

Alex, Maya and Riley

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

Oh my goodness…I could spend all day with these kiddos!  They are so darn cute and fun!  This is my 3rd sessions with this family…each time adding a new child to the photographs.

blog1

Their smiles are contagious…every time I look at this one I smile!

blog5

Alex is so handsome and full of life…

blog2

I just want to squeeze Maya…she is adorable!

blog6

And new baby sister Riley is so easy going…

blog3

Is she not the cutest thing?  We had used the basket for Riley earlier in the session and Maya was determined to have her picture taken in it as well.  Too funny…

blog7

I’m liking my fun new background…and since the clothes matched perfectly, I got to use it!

blog4

Thank you Jon and Karen!  I just love our sessions together!  You have amazing kiddos!

Preschool Graduation

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

I had the pleasure of photographing another preschool graduation.  I serve on the preschool board here and I’m so excited about the program we have.  What cuties…

Congratulations Jennifer on another successful year!

Baby Aidan

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Wow am I behind on so many things…we have had the stomach flu go through our house very slowly…I had it about 2 weeks ago, Shelby has had it…twice and now Ethan has it.  That on top of all the graduation festivities this last weekend for Shelby and end of the school year activities, I just keep adding to my “to do” list…  I recently did maternity pictures for Aidan’s Mommy and now he’s here!  …and what a cutie he is!

blog2

Love the hat his Mommy brought along…

BLOG7

He looks like such a little peanut…

BLOG3

Just so sweet…

BLOG5

This is the best baby yawn I have ever captured…

BLOG4

I’m loving the bucket shots…I haven’t ever used this bucket before but I have had it for a long time so I was glad to get to do something new that I hadn’t ever done before for Aidan…

BLOG8

A cute foot shot…

BLOG6

And I love this one with his Grandma who was here all the way from Pennsylvania!

blog1

Thank you Travis and Jean for bringing your sweet little boy for newborn pictures.  I can’t wait to photograph him again in less than 6 months!

Shelby

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

I have to brag a little…this is our “borrowed daughter” Shelby.  That’s what Josh calls her since we do have to give her back to her parents in Australia at the end of the summer.  We have had the best experience having an exchange student!  My kids are going to be so sad when she has to leave but I’m trying not to think about that since she doesn’t have to go until August.  They absolutely adore her and so do I.  Graduation is this Saturday and I’ve already been in tears several times thinking about it…her time here has gone so quickly.  I will be a mess at Graduation so just think what it will be like when Ethan and Isabelle graduate!

blog1

In just a little over 4 short months, she has made a place in our home, in our family and in our hearts.

blog3

We can’t wait to take a trip to Australia someday to visit her!

blog2

And just for fun…this is one of my favorite sayings….”I am not the same having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world.”

blog4

I am not the same because I too have seen the moon shine on the other side of the world, but more importantly I am not the same after having Shelby in our lives.  My kids and my husband have been touched by her too and it is an experience none of us will ever forget.   I couldn’t have asked for anything better.  She was so involved in sports, was so accepted by all of her friends and classmates at South Platte and she even got 2nd place at the district FFA competition and went to state.   We are so very proud of you Shelby, we love you and we will miss you like crazy when you leave!

Avery and Kinley

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

What a cute little family!  I have taken pictures of Jessica’s whole side of the family before and this time I got Scott, Jessica and the girls.

blog4

Love this one!  Kinley has her Daddy’s fireman helmet and I love how she was almost hugging it…

blog2

Too cute…we tried all kinds of things where Avery was holding Kinley but she is at the age where she doesn’t want to be held down…she has places to go…so we had to sneak Avery leaning in behind her and being careful not to actually touch her…

blog1

What a cute smile…

blog7

And another cute smile from big sister…

blog3

I think this is my favorite…

blog5

Kinley is one so she brought some birthday balloons along…

blog6

I wanted her to stand next to my chair but she wanted to hide from me instead.  She was peeking between the rails of the chair at me…

blog8

Thank you Scott and Jessica for bringing your family for pictures.  Happy Birthday Kinley!!

My little boy is 6!

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

So I thought I would just share some pictures of the birthday party we had for Ethan yesterday…just one of the many events and reasons May is a crazy busy month for us…if I haven’t returned your phone call or your email, please forgive me…I’ve been concentrating on throwing a party for my little boy and now this week I am concentrating on the graduation reception we are having for Shelby (our exchange student) this weekend…not to mention that this is the busiest time of year for me at work…so many meetings and tying up loose ends….but the end is near…only a few more weeks of school left.  Ethan’s birthday kicks off the 6 week period in which both of my kids and my sister’s kids have birthdays, my sister and I both have our birthdays and my sister, brother and I all have anniversaries.  What a busy time of year but I love it!

Ethan had a “movie” birthday party.  He LOVES the movies and has decided he would like to be in the movies someday…I think he’s probably way too shy for that but will always encourage him to follow his dreams!

blog2

I made “popcorn” cupcakes that turned out really cute.  I’m not so good at cakes…but cupcakes I can handle.  The popcorn is actually marshmellows!

blog5

Ethan and my nephew worked really hard on a concession stand.  I included some “Ethan” money in the invites and the kids brought their money to buy pop, popcorn and candy at the concession stand…just like at the theater.  They loved it!

blog9

There were Ethan’s favors…

blog7

…complete with popcorn from Colby Ridge in Lincoln.  They were awesome…I called and told them what colors I wanted and sent them what I wanted on the labels and they did the rest and shipped them to me!

blog8

blog6

Hard to believe he is 6 already…I remember very vividly this day 6 years ago and I played it through my head all day…and at 6:46 pm this evening I remember the relief of being done with labor and meeting my little guy.  What a wonderful ride it has been so far…

blog4

Ethan and his friends…they all had such a good time which makes my heart smile…I  always want my kids to be happy!  Happy Birthday Ethan!  I love you!!
