Lucy

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Pet photography isn’t so bad…at least not with Lucy.  This is my brother and sister-in-laws dog they rescued from the Humane Society in Lincoln.  Lucy stands really still, especially when Michelle dresses her up. She freezes…it’s too funny.  Here she is in her Easter dress…

blog5

And this one is her birthday outfit…yes that is a cupcake for her birthday…

blog1

Jeff and Michelle needed an updated family picture and now it’s complete!

blog3

Jeff has always been in love with labs so it is so strange to see him with this little tiny dog…

blog2

But he likes her an awful lot…even if he doesn’t want to admit it!

blog4

So now I guess I need a pet section on my website!  haha  Lucy was a dream to work with…I didn’t have to try and get smiles out of her or anything.

Miss Jenna

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Jenna was a kick in the pants during our session together.  She had me giggling through the whole thing.

blog2

She loved to come up with her own poses…

blog6

Love this shot…it reminds me that there is such joy in just being a kid!

blog7

Ta….da….!

blog5

Jenna has the most beautiful eyes and she wore the most awesome bright colors so I really like the colored versions of her pictures.

blog8

I work with Jenna’s mom, who is a Pediatric Physical Therapist.  They live in North Platte so I am so glad they made the trip to Chappell…especially on a Saturday.  When you drive as much as Susan and I do for our jobs, it’s hard to want to go anywhere on our days off.  I think Jenna had a lot of fun…she was loving having her picture taken and she got to play outside with my kids before she left.  I’m anxious to see Susan today and what Jenna thought about it.

blog4

So cute…this one could just melt your heart…

blog3

And the collage…I am hoping to start doing more collages like this one in normal sizes.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE storyboards but frames are getting harder and harder to find.  I can order frames if someone out there is having trouble finding something.  Just email me and ask me for details!

Thank you Susan for bringing Jenna and thank you Jenna for being such a wonderful subject!!

Easter Sessions

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Easter sessions went great and I had a blast…and Sami the bunny did outstanding!  She was very mellow and let all the kids handle her as much as they wanted.   I decided to do Customer Appreciation Easter sessions.  Everyone who signed up are my faithful customers and I wanted to reward them for coming.  They got  a free 5×7 for coming as well as discounted packages.   Here are some of the Easter cards I designed…

Ben and Shawna

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

Ben is a dear friend of mine and I am photographing his wedding the end of May in Ord, NE.  We were all recently in Lincoln for the Boys State Basketball Tournament so we met up to take some engagement pictures.

blog1

It was not warm at all the day we did these…it had been wet and rainy and cold…but we stuck it out and got some great shots.

blog4

They look so happy…

blog3

The wind was blowing too so we faced that as well but I love the way it is blowing Shawna’s hair in this one…it’s just the right amount…

blog6

blog5

I love this one…what you can’t see is that they are wearing Batman shirts.  Ben loves Batman and Shawna played along and wore a Batgirl shirt just for him…the things we do before we are married!

blog7

And off into the sunset they go…

blog8

Thank you Ben and Shawna! I am really looking forward to your wedding in May!!

Brody

Monday, March 15th, 2010

Brody was less than a week old but wasn’t interested in sleeping.  We tried several times but he was so alert for a little guy…

blog5

I could have just kept him at my house…what a sweetie…

blog1

Even all snuggled up he didn’t get sleepy…this little guy is on a schedule already…nice job Mom and Dad!  That is something that after 2 kids I never mastered…and still haven’t!   That was really obvious tonight when I had forgotten that I forgot to set the clock in the kitchen ahead for the time change and let my kids stay up over an hour past bedtime.  I hope tomorrow isn’t too rough!

blog4

What a strong little thing…he lifted his head off his mom’s shoulder like a champ!

blog3

Brody did not like his little legs to be curled up so each time we got him positioned…he kicked them out…guess we got lucky on this one.

blog2

And a baby bottom…so cute…

blog6

Thank you Mark and Deann!  Brody is a sweetie pie!

Matthew

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Matthew is 4 months old and cute as can be!

blog4

Such a happy little guy…

blog6

And strong too…a lot of babies at this age can push up but they aren’t smiling when they do because it is such hard work!  :)

blog5

I just love all of his smiles!  He didn’t make me work too hard for them…

blog3

And those big blue eyes could melt anyone’s heart…

blog2

This is his handsome look…

blog1

And finally his storyboard…when I work with babies like this one it makes me want to have another one but then I just have to remind myself what they are like when they are two…haha!

blog7

It was nice to meet you Niki and your little guy is precious!

Emmalyn

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

I have had the pleasure of taking Emmalyn’s newborn, 1 year and now 2 year pictures.  It is so fun to look back at the images from previous sessions and see how they have grown!  This first one is my favorite!

blog1

When Emma first got here, she wasn’t the least bit sure she wanted to have her picture taken.  After we played blocks for a while she warmed up…

blog2

I love this image as well…hard to pick a favorite.

blog6

She is at the age where she has a ton of facial expressions!  We were able to capture a few of those…

blog4

So cute!  After playing with the blocks, she really wanted them in every shot…which was fine with me if it produced some smiles!

blog7

blog5

And finally one with her mom and dad.  By this point, I was bribing her with suckers and so she has that in the picture with her…at least it wasn’t in her mouth for this shot!

blog3

Thank you Glen and Nikki.  You have an adorable family!

Easter Mini Sessions

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

rabbit2

I have had several requests over the past couple of years to have Easter mini sessions and it has just never worked out with my schedule…but this year my niece Madison is getting a pet bunny so I decided to go for it.  I will have Easter mini sessions on Saturday March 20th.  Sessions will be 15-20  minutes in length.  The package (3-5 images to choose from) will include the session and your choice of 4 units for $110.  One unit would be 8 wallets, 2-5×7 prints, 1-8×10 print, 25 cards, or a 5×10 mini storyboard. You can choose your units in any combination so if you would like to use your 4 units on 100 cards, you can do that.   Contact me through email to set up your appointment!

Macey

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

This is the 4th time I have taken Macey’s pictures and I totally enjoy her every time.  She gave me lots of exercise this time…as she had her own agenda as most 1 1/2 year olds do…

blog3

She brought her monkey along and we didn’t get too many shots without him in them but I love her monkey! So cute!

blog2

What a smile…this little girl is full of spirit and spunk!

blog1

This was as still as she sat the whole time…she was determined to get those boots on herself…and she did…they were just on the wrong feet.  blog4

She loves her monkey…and her monkey boots!

blog6

What beautiful eyes!

blog5

Just had the share the storyboard…

blog7

Thank you Derek and Melissa for being a part of my photography family.  I have enjoyed each and every session with you and I hope to see you again soon!

Ethan and Izzie

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Okay, I need to brag just a little…I just took these pictures of my kiddos because I always get caught up in taking pictures and trying new things with everyone else so I took the time to do some with my own kids.

blog3

They are actually touching each other and no-one is screaming…WOW!  I see now I didn’t quite get the spot of hair covered that she decided to cut off herself last week but it will remind us of when she did that.  I’m surprised it took her this long to do something like that and I’m surprised it wasn’t much worse.

blog2

Izzie has so much personality which shows through in this look for sure…

blog8

I love these next 2…they are my favorites!

blog6

blog1

I think Ethan looks really nice in his pink shirt…even though he said to me “Mom, do you really want me to put on that pink shirt?”  Wait until he finds out his Easter shirt is purple!

blog5

Izzie was not necessarily cooperating with me by this time but I actually love this shot…she insisted on laying on the floor instead of sitting up so we went with and I’m really happy with the way it turned out.

blog4

I’ve wanted to take a picture with her rain stuff forever…can’t ever seem to remember when it is actually raining so before she outgrows it we got a few!

blog7

I have been quite busy for February which is typically a slower month.  Thank you to all my clients for booking sessions!  I love what I do!!  I have 4 sessions to hopefully get edited before the weekend.  We are taking our kids skiing for Spring Break.  I hope I don’t end up in the emergency room!
