Owen, Will and Ben

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Owen has to be one of my favorites…he’s been coming to see me since he was 6 months old and I love him more and more every time he is here.  He is so stinkin cute and he has such a cute personality…

blog1

And here he is with his twin brothers, Will and Ben…

blog2

Ben was really smiley at the beginning of our session and Will wasn’t…but

blog4

As I’m sure always happens with twins and a 3 year old, things changed and then Ben decided it was okay to have his picture taken…

blog6

It’s always okay with Owen to have his taken…I could just eat him up!

blog3

And the twins with their 1st birthday cakes…they liked to eat the candles better than the frosting…go figure!

blog5

Thank you so much Paul and Maria.  I love your boys and I cannot imagine how busy you must be.  You handle the unpredictibilty of 3 small children with such grace!  Happy Birthday Ben and Will!

Tate & Blakelyn

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

I took Tate’s pictures when he was one and now I got the chance to take his little sister Blakelyn’s pictures at that age too!  They came all the way from Haxtun in a snowstorm and I’m so glad they did.  How adorable is this little boy?

blog1

And here is his little sister…

blog2

Too darn cute…

blog4

I love this one…it’s my favorite!

blog5

Blakelyn got right out on my white paper…some kids are afraid of it at first but not her…she jumped right in!

blog7

And she gave me this adorable look when she realized I was actually taking her picture!  Love it!

blog3

And the whole family…I really like how they coordinated clothing….plus I recognized the kid’s clothes right away as coming from Children’s Place.  I seem to be ordering a lot of things from there lately…

blog6

Thank you Kelly and Sara for bringing your two sweeties to me on bad roads.  I’m glad you made it safely!

Kash

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

I can’t believe Kash is one already!  I took his 6 month pictures…where did the time go?

blog3

I just love shots when kids are looking down or away from me…they are so genuine…

blog4

He is smiling with his whole face!

blog6

What a beautiful family…

blog2

Love this expression too!

blog1

Little baby teeth coming in are the best!  Not so much when they are making kids cranky but seeing those 2 little teeth on the bottom is so adorable…

blog5

And here is Kash with his birthday cake.  He didn’t tear into it too much and stayed pretty clean!  I do really like that the cake was frosted with small pieces of fondant added to it.  The fondant covered cakes look amazing but 1 year olds really do have a hard time tearing into them and most of them don’t like to eat the fondant so this kind of cake would make for really good messy cake shots…Kash just wasn’t into getting very messy that day!

blog7

Thanks Nate and Kelly.  I enjoyed my time with you.  You have a wonderful little family!

Kassidy

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Kassidy is the 3rd little girl to join this family and they are just as cute as can be!

blog5

Kassidy was not into sleeping for our session so we just went with it.  Her eyes are so sweet in this shot…

blog4

I’ve got to give this mom tons of credit.  I think I’m busy…she has a 2  year old, a 1 year old and now a new baby.  She’s got to be some sort of Wonder Woman!

blog3

Love this one…

blog6

I just love the way Kassidy is looking at me in this one…

blog2

It is usually hard to get newborns to look right at you but she did it the whole time…as long as she didn’t have to close her eyes she would have looked at me all day!

blog1

Thank you Trevor and Amie.  It was nice to see you again as always!

Another February Senior

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Two seniors in February seems crazy but we got it accomplished.  I need to take some senior shots of Shelby, our foreign exchange student from Australia one of these days soon…so maybe I’ll make it 3 this month!

blog1

Shannon is from South Platte and I have gotten to know some of those kids pretty well this year so it is really fun to take their pictures!

blog2

Shannon was really tough out in the cold…I had snow boots and a coat on and you couldn’t tell by looking at these that she was cold at all!

blog3

This is still one of my favorite senior picture spots…

blog4

I had a hard time narrowing down Shannon’s pictures to edit because she is really photogenic.

blog5

I really like this black and white…

blog6

I love the colors in these…Shannon’s clothing choices were perfect!

blog7

Thanks Shannon!  It won’t be long and you will be graduating!!

Caden and Bryson

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

Bryson is on my baby plan so this is the 2nd time I’ve gotten to photograph him.  It is the 3rd time for Caden and there is just something about him that makes me want to keep him at my house!  Such a cutie!

blog1

I love this family shot…Bryson couldn’t be smiling any bigger!!

blog2

Caden is a big helper and was awesome with his little brother!

blog7

Bryson is going to take after Caden and be cute as can be!

blog3

Caden was telling me all about a basketball game they had gone to the night before so I was glad he had his ball with him for a few shots.

blog4

So stinkin’ cute!

blog5

One of my favorites…so sweet.

blog6

I have quite a “photography family” and I love my families that just keep coming back.  This family is definitely a part of my photography family and I’m so glad they are.  Thank you Tony and Suzanne.  Your boys are adorable and I look forward to the next time!

Brrrr…

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

A senior session in February in Nebraska could mean anything but this day it meant snow and cold!  Kodey moved here recently from a more southern state so he struggled more with the cold than I did but we all survived!

blog6

Kodey is smiling to stop his teeth from chattering!

blog4

The snowy lake has a very different look than in the summer months for sure!

blog5

A more serious shot…

blog3

Inside was much warmer!

blog2

And even though Kodey describes himself as “country” he cleans up good too!

blog1

Thanks Kodey.  It was nice to meet you and your family.  Good luck with the rest of your senior year!

Snowy Wedding

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

I photographed this wedding quite a while before Christmas but Jennifer was so understanding about the fact that it would take me longer to edit with everything going on through the Christmas season.   There just happened to be a big snow storm the weekend of the wedding and a lot of their family members were not able to travel to be there.  We were unable to do any outside pictures due to very cold temperatures and lots of snow so we had to get a little creative inside the church…

blog10

I love simple wedding dresses and Jennifer’s was one of the prettiest dresses I have ever seen!  I loved it!

blog2

This was something new I hadn’t tried before but I like the way it turned out…

blog8

This was actually the first time Matt and Jennifer saw each other…you can just see the love between them!

blog1

I think this might be my favorite of the day!

blog9

Here’s the whole group…so many little girls…they are all Jennifer’s nieces…

blog3

They must really love each other because they completely smeared cake in each other’s faces.  I think it had to have been up their noses when they were done and they were still smiling!

blog6

Since bubbles weren’t blown outside so no-one froze the little girls had a blast blowing them indoors at the reception!

blog4

blog5

And this is another favorite of mine…the younger crowd had their own “CHEERS” with their sparkling apple juice…so cute!

blog7

Thank you so much Matt and Jennifer for being so patient with me while I finished these up.  You should have the passcode to your whole slideshow later tonight!

Maternity Session

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

It has been forever since I have done a maternity session so I was really excited for this one!

blog1

blog5

I hadn’t ever tried maternity on white but I’m liking it!

blog7

I love the mood of this shot…

blog3

I think it is so nice to have photographs like this to remember the period in time when a baby was carried…I had maternity pictures done when I was pregnant with Isabelle and I’m really glad I did.

blog4

It’s a miracle we take for granted everyday…I look at these and it almost makes me want to have another baby…almost…I need to remember what the terrible 2′s involve since that is what we are currently living at our house.  HA!

blog6

I love that we could use his name in this shot.  I didn’t find out with either of my children if they were a boy or a girl so this wouldn’t have worked for me…along with the fact that we didn’t have a name picked out for sure when we went to the hospital to have Isabelle.  I was sure she was a boy and we hadn’t agreed on a boy name.  Probably a good thing she was a girl!

blog2

Thank you Jean.  I look forward to working with you over the next year and I can’t wait to meet Baby Aidan.  Stay tuned for his newborn pictures in a few months!

Jared

Monday, February 15th, 2010

Jared was back for one year pictures!  That year flew by. I did his newborn and 6 month pictures and he is a joy every time….this time especially.  I have NEVER seen a 1 year old stand in one place for so long.  We tried to get him to move and he just grinned at us.  Not what you expect out of a one year old.  I usually have sweat dripping by the time I am done with a session like this but Jared made it easy on me!

This one is my favorite!

blog8

He has the cutest facial expressions.  He wouldn’t ever do the one where he wrinkles up his nose like I was hoping for but he is cuter than a button!

blog6

I love the 2 bottom teeth hanging out all by themselves!  Ahh I remember when that is what Izzie looked like…they grow up so fast.

blog3

His blue eyes are awesome with the blue in the background.

blog4

And this picture is funny to me because there is a story behind it.  I got out this blue chair and this blue birthday hat and I was so excited about using them all together because they just looked so good.  I tried to put the hat on Jared and he immediately took it off.  He had his birthday party the day before and they had party hats.  He snapped himself really hard and apparently it was traumatic because he knew he didn’t want that hat anywhere near his head…in fact he didn’t want that hat at all.  This was taken right before he threw it on the floor.  He wanted nothing to do with it!  So I giggle when I see the look on his face in this one.

blog7

I’ve been wanting to use this sled for a long time too and he was the perfect kid to use it with because I knew he would stay put.

blog1

This was the end of the session and he was tired so even though there is a big crocodile tear running down his face on this one…I really love it!  It’s a moment that doesn’t get captured very much because we are always going for the smiles.  He is just so sweet…

blog5

Thanks Justin and Steph.  I had a great time with you as always and your little boy is adorable!!!
