More Kearney Sessions

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Here’s another Kearney session…it seems I got out of order and jumped the gun a little with the 1st 2 sessions from Kearney.   My apologies.  This is my very good friend Laurie and her family.

smith4

We moved from the Harmon Park location to downtown for some different shots.  I love this look so I was excited to do this for Laurie…

smith3

This is Josie and what a riot she is!  She had us laughing the whole session.  Last year I think I got one picture of her smiling…well not this year…she was a little model for me!

smith1

This is her brother Breyden.  He’s not so much into modeling…imagine that.  A pre-teen boy not into posing for pictures.  He was very cooperative considering this is probably the last thing he wanted to be doing.

smith5

Parker was such a trooper!  He had a fever the day before and wasn’t feeling very good but he did great!

smith11

I love this shot of Laurie and Josie…

smith2

I just had to share this one because Josie cracks me up…

smith6

And one more family shot…

smith7

And still cracking me up…we told her she could pick the next pose and this is what she came up with…along with several others!

smith10

Here is Josie being my “assistant”.  I told her to help me make her brothers smile…so funny!

smith9

And finally this shot with Todd.  I love the way she is holding her hand out at us like we aren’t supposed to be watching.

smith8

I enjoyed our time together Laurie.  I so wish you still lived here.  I miss our walks and our daily conversations!

New product

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Photo charms are here!  These are handmade in eastern Nebraska and are much more affordable than the company I am currently using for this type of thing.  Necklace charms, chains, and Christmas ornaments are available.  Ask me for more details!  Necklace charms start at $20 and ornaments start at $25.  I hope to have some ornament samples soon and I will post a picture of those as soon as I get them.

You can put pictures on both sides of your charm or a picture on one side and wording on the other.  The charm here that says “My Blessings” has a picture of Ethan and Isabelle on the front.

j1

These would make awesome Christmas gifts!  Ask me for more details!  You can get a charm from any session.

Henry

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

Henry…I love that name.  Isabelle was going to be Henry if she was a boy…

h6

This one is my favorite of the day…

h8

With this one coming in a close 2nd…love the hat!

h1

This was about as much smiling as I got out of Henry.  He just wasn’t sure smiling is what he wanted to do…but despite that I think we got some great shots…

h4

I should take that back…he smiled plenty…with his tongue sticking out.  I know that isn’t what his mom had in mind but I’m okay with capturing him just how he was on that day and if sticking his tongue out when he smiled was what he was doing at that stage in his life…then I’m glad I got those shots…

h7

Henry looks so darn cute in this one…I would love to know what they are thinking sometimes.

h3

I would really like to know what he is thinking here…He looks like he’s getting ready to tell his Daddy something…arms crossed and all!

h2

We finished our session another day at the pumpkin patch, which is originally where it was supposed to take place except that the pumpkins were covered in snow…

h5

Thank you Dan and Andrea for brining Henry to me.   I had a really nice time with you!

Baby Campbell

Monday, October 26th, 2009

What a sweet baby!

c7

I have a ton to share of this little guy…

c4

I got lucky here and captured this little expression…

c5

We tried really hard to get Campbell to sleep for us but this was his first big outing and he wanted to stay awake for it so he didn’t miss anything!

c9

Not much cuter than baby toes…

c8

For as little as he was (less than 2 weeks old), he had the picture thing figured out.  I would put my camera up and he would just look right at me.  Amazing!

c2

What a little peanut…

c10

I finally got him to sleep for a few shots…with a lot of pacifier action and a quick shot in between yanking it out of his mouth.

c6

So precious…

c3

And finally the announcement I designed…I could design cards all day long.  I really love that part!

c1

Thank you Jeff and Julie for sharing your sweet little boy with me.  It was nice to meet you and I enjoyed our time together!

My best friend

Monday, October 26th, 2009

My best friend since elementary school lives in Elm Creek so we always take her family pictures while I am in Kearney.  This year I actually didn’t make her wait until last to see hers…she’s such a good friend and is so patient with me.

b1

Jacob is growing up so fast…I can still remember when Kerri graduated from college and Jacob “helped” me stir the punch with his hands when he was just a toddler…

b4

And not a visit goes by that Nate doesn’t make me laugh…what a funny kid!

b2

And then there’s Hannah.  She’s really the one in charge!

b3

I just love this bridge….

b5

It was so nice to spend some time with your family Kerri!  As always I enjoyed myself and thanks for the Hunans!

Jason, Kelly, Gracen and Ryan

Monday, October 26th, 2009

I always enjoy my Kearney photo shoot day and this year was wonderful!  I got to see old friends and catch up.  Kelly used to be a speech therapist with ESU 16 and I got to know her through our early childhood team.  They live in Utica now so they could be closer to their families and we miss them terribly!  It was so nice to see her.  The last time I saw her was at an early childhood conference and she was very pregnant so it was a lot of fun to meet little Ryan!

f1

What a nice looking family…

f3

As always the park in Kearney was gorgeous…I so wish we had something even remotely close to that here in Chappell…

f2

Gracen is very close to my Ethan’s age…in fact Kelly and I had the same due date…and both of them were overdue.

f4

I love this shot of Ryan.  He fell over and didn’t seem to mind at all!

f5

He looks so cute in his little hood and it was really cold for the first session of the day.  The kids did awesome for as chilly as it was…

f6

Gracen’s hat is way cute too…

f7

I really love this candid of the kids playing in the leaves…Ryan was very interested in the leaves and we had a hard time getting him to look at us.  The grass and leaves were way more interesting so we went with it!

f8

It was so nice to see you guys again!  We will have to get together a little more often!  Everyone at ESU 16 will be jealous that I got to spend some time with you!

Peyton, Chesney and Ridglyn

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

I took Ridglyn’s pictures back last spring and she brought her brothers this time.   We took these pictures outside right before that 1st snow so it was not warm.  Peyton and Chesney were very patient while we waited for Ridglyn to want to “play” with us but she had her own agenda…

s7

I love this shot…

s2

Peyton is really good with his little sister…so grown up…

s4

Chesney is quite the card and had me laughing the whole time.

s3

I think this is my favorite shot of the session…

s1

It got so cold and the boys’ teeth were chattering so we moved inside…

s6

And at last…a big smile from Ridglyn!

s8

Thank you Jennifer for bringing your kiddos for more pictures!  They are a lot of fun!!

My kiddos

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

My kids have been so cooperative with me lately and they have actually asked me to take their pictures.  I have been so swamped they probably figure it is the best way to get to spend time with me.  I realize how sad that is…and once I get past this month and my mini-session day, I am forcing myself to settle down.  It’s just so hard to limit myself with my photography because I love it so much.  Anyway, here are my kids and their latest pictures.  Ethan has really been wanting a mohawk lately.  I did not cut it this way…we just used a lot of gel!

blog2

The best pictures lately of my own children seem to be the ones that aren’t planned…we just throw something together and off we go!

I know I put my kids on here a lot but I’m so proud of them.  They are my greatest masterpieces!

Christmas Card Designs

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

So I am finally getting my Christmas card designs posted.  I bought a bunch of templates to “save myself time” and I used pieces and parts of some of them but for the most part I started over and designed them myself.  I LOVE doing that and was just trying to save time, which I failed at miserably, since I couldn’t just be satisfied with the templates I purchased.   I tried to include a variety of designs to suit everyone’s tastes.  I can change wording or add more than 1 picture to most of these designs so if there is something you would like a little different please let me know.

Jared

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

I took Jared’s newborn pictures and he was back for his 6 month shots!  I just love this little guy…I have never seen him without a smile on his face…well until this day.  I can’t help but LOVE this shot…with tears in his eyes and his pacifier in his mouth…

jared3

Thankfully it didn’t take him long to get happy again and we got such cute shots.  I have a ton to share from this session because I love them all!

jared1

This was one of the few serious looks we got…

jared2

Jared had a diaper on but he strategically placed this duck so we couldn’t see it!  Yay!

jared4

He is just so sweet…I look at these pictures and want to give him a squeeze!

jared8

He wasn’t all that impressed with his Halloween costume but what a cute elephant he is!

jared5

What a little pumpkin!

jared7

I couldn’t help but design a Halloween card…

jared6

And finally his storyboard…

jared9

Thank you Steph.  I know you will enjoy these, especially this week!  Stay strong and he will be home soon!  (Jared’s babysitter has kids with H1N1 so Jared’s grandma had to come get him and take him with her for the week and Steph is missing him like crazy!)
